Specific Need

Midwives for Haiti is seeking support for general operating expenses to ensure we can continue providing consistent, high-quality maternal healthcare while remaining prepared to respond to emerging needs. As the cost of supplies, transportation, utilities, and healthcare operations continues to rise, flexible funding is essential to maintaining services and meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve.

General operating support helps cover midwife salaries, clinical supplies, transportation, facility operations, training programs, and other critical expenses that keep our programs running every day. This support also gives us the flexibility to respond as community needs evolve.

Today, one of our greatest emerging needs is caring for families who have been forced to flee their homes because of gang violence. In response, Midwives for Haiti expanded our services through Camp Clinic, where internally displaced mothers and children receive prenatal care, pediatric services, safe transportation, nutritious meals, and compassionate support in a safe environment.

Your support allows us to train skilled birth attendants, provide compassionate maternity care, and expand access to lifesaving services across Haiti's Central Plateau.

Profile

For nearly 20 years, Midwives for Haiti has worked to make childbirth safer for women and babies in rural Haiti by training and employing skilled Haitian midwives and providing lifesaving maternal healthcare where it is needed most.

Based in Haiti's Central Plateau, Midwives for Haiti operates a network of community clinics, a birth center, a high-risk maternal waiting home, and specialized women's health programs that reach thousands of women and families each year. Our team of Haitian midwives provides prenatal care, safe deliveries, postpartum care, family planning, cervical cancer screening, and emergency maternal health services in communities where access to healthcare is often limited or nonexistent.

At the heart of our work is a simple belief: every mother deserves skilled care during pregnancy and childbirth, regardless of where she lives.
