Specific Need

Join with us in helping provide vital pieces of aftercare for boys and young men who are survivors of sex trafficking! We are raising support for four different initiatives:

FRUIT TREES AND GARDENS 

The aftercare home and property in Haiti is currently being utilized for crisis orphan care. With the increasing gang violence in the country many ministries have had to flee the capital city of Port au Prince. We are also continuing to prepare the space for future needs and sustainability. One project we are working on is planting fruit trees and banana plants on an area of roughly three acres. This will supplement our own needs and needs in our community. This will expand agricultural training opportunities for survivors as they learn what different crops need to in the future to grow food for their own families and communities. This not only equips the boys with lifelong skills but also gives them the power to grow their own food—a step toward true independence and restoration.

COMPLETION OF SOCCER FIELD 

We continue to work towards raising funds to be able to build a recreational space on our campus for the survivors in our care in Haiti. Recreation is healing—this space will be a vital part of their emotional and physical recovery. We were able to begin work on a soccer field from last year’s initiative. This year, funds raised will go towards finishing the field. 

OFFICE FURNITURE 

As we set up the home in Haiti, we are using a temporary office space in the maintenance building on campus. We need a desk, office chair, a few other chairs, a fan, printer, office supplies, and a filing cabinet to furnish this space.

SECURITY WALL, SOLAR LIGHTING, and CAMPUS MAINTENANCE 

We need to complete a few maintenance projects around campus. One is to reseal the pressed earth blocks on our security wall. This will help ensure the integrity and longevity of the wall which provides safety and peace of mind to the survivors and staff. There has been an unusual amount of rain this spring, this has led to the need to do some drainage and clean up projects. We also need to install additional solar safety lighting in the back area of the property.

Established in 2010, Blackbox International is a faith-based, Christ-centered, not-for-profit organization that exists to holistically rehabilitate formerly sex-trafficked boys and young men. Blackbox provides the critical aftercare component for male survivors of sex trafficking in order to help them find healing from their past, joy in the present, and purpose for their future. We believe they will be restored from the hurt and confusion that been inflicted upon them and one day become men who will change the world. We provide care for boys and young men in our safe-home in the Dominican Republic and are expanding into Haiti.
